Private Lessons
Private lessons are a vital element in a student’s musical life. The opportunity to study privately with a professional musician is one of the most important factors to an individual student’s success. These professionals provide detailed, specific, one-on-one instruction, tailored for your child. Private lessons challenge the advanced students and accelerate students who need extra attention. Of the students who make the Texas All-State Band, roughly 97% take private lessons! Making the Texas All-State Band in high school will almost guarantee a scholarship to a major university!
Private lessons are available once a week during a student’s band class, before or after school at a cost of $20.00 per lesson. Private lessons are not required, do not guarantee a higher band placement and they are not a part of your child’s grade. However, students that take advantage of this opportunity will progress at a much faster rate and will learn to appreciate and enjoy their instrument even more.
Private lessons are a combined effort between the directors, parents, student and private instructor. If you are interested in lessons and are concerned about cost, please contact a director. Our goal is for 100% of our band students to be able to take private lessons. Let us help you succeed!
