CHS Dragon Band Parent Meeting

The CHS band directors will host a parent meeting on February 7th at 6:00 to 7:30pm in the CHS band hall with a Band Booster meeting to follow. This is an informational meeting for all parents of next years’ 9th grade class.

Jazz/Percussion

Jazz Club Rehearsal – Monday December 12, 4-5pm

Jazz/Percussion Concert – Tuesday December 13, 6pm, CMS Cafeteria
Dress is band shirt and blue blue jeans.
Students should be in the band hall at 5:30pm.

Please note this will be a very informal concert.

If any students would like to hear the CHS Jazz Bands – their Winter Concert will be held at CSHS, 7pm, December 8.

CMS/DIS Winter Concert

Next Monday, December 5th, is our Winter Concert. To help our students do their best DIS students should be seated on stage at 7:00pm, and CMS students should be seated in the auditorium at Carroll Senior High School at 7:15pm. The concert will begin at 7:30pm. Students should bring their music and instrument. Cases may be left in your car. Please make sure to remind your child to bring their instrument home after school Monday. CMS/DIS will not be open Monday night. Dress is Sunday’s best.

CMS Band Update

Dear CMS Dragon Band Parents,

A few updates for you.  First we have our second social this Friday – Movie Night.  This will be held at CMS.  Tickets are sold during band for $5.00 or at the door for $7.00.  The event starts at 7pm and is over at 10pm.  We are still in need of more chaperones. 

Fine Arts Night is next Tuesday, November 15.  This is a required performance for all Dragon Band students.  Students need to meet at the band hall at 4:45.  There are two performances – 5:15pm and 6:15pm.  All students are required to attend both performances – this is our BIG fundraiser.  If you child would like to stay at school until the performance pizza orders are being taken until Friday, and the cost is $5.00 cash or check made out to CMS PTSO.  Students should be finished and released around 6:50pm.  Band members should wear their band shirt, blue blue jeans and closed toed shoes.

The next day, Wednesday November 16, band pictures for the year book will be made.  I understand that this might not be easy, but to look our best for the year book please have your child wear their band shirt, blue blue jeans, and closed toed shoes.

Also next Wednesday the Jazz Club will meet at 4pm to 5pm.

All-Region Phase One

All-Region times and room numbers are posted on Mr. Oglesby’s door. Auditions are held at Dawson MS.  Bass clarinet and lower saxes are not included in Phase One.
